Gathering the hardware!

Creative Mellen took home eight awards at the 46th annual American Advertising Award celebration — three Best of Categories (more than any other company), three Golds, and two Silvers. Award winning work included Stepping Stones Elementary website, University of Iowa’s College of Education brand creative, Iowa/Dev logo, and Creative Mellen self promotion posters and website.

Additionally Creative Mellen won four merits at this year's Educational Advertising Awards for the University of Iowa's College of Education brand, website, integrated campaign, and outdoor banners.

It’s ok to brag.

The state of Iowa has always been a great place to live, work, and play. In an effort to create talk value for the state and Iowa’s Creative Corridor, Creative Mellen, Sculpt, and ICAD partnered to create Iowa Brag. A Twitter and Tumblr based campaign that not only provides facts and figures about the State but engages alumni and other fans to share their memories and moments of visiting and living here.

“It came as no surprise that Iowa Brag took off online. Social was built into the DNA of the campaign, beginning with the process that went into the name, concept and artwork. Kevin's design framework allowed us freedom to make changes, but provided a consistent aesthetic that transfers across off and online mediums, said Josh Krakauer of Sculpt. Safe to say, it's easy to brag about working with Creative Mellen!”

Code training intensified!

A new intensive 9-week developer bootcamp at the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center was in need of a brand and identity. The "Dev/Iowa Bootcamp" (as it became to be called) is a very technical and hands-on curriculum designed to turn beginners and those with prior experience into professional web developers. These attributes are reflected in the identity with coding language and circuitry elements. The state of Iowa is emphasized as the monitor screen to highlight one of the first Developer Bootcamps in the state. The badge construction of the identity encompasses what is described as a course that offers the most efficient way to become a full-stack web developer; a skill-set heavily sought after by employers across the state and the rest of the world.

Navigating your identity.

Ellen Hallin Life Strategies helps individuals, families, and groups navigate relationships, careers, faith, and identity. Creating directional and pathway components within the logo was key in branding Ellen Hallin and its mission.
