A New Beginning

As I leave Creative Mellen for Pear Deck, I’m happy to know that I’ve gained an incredible amount of experience from my time designing here. I learned how to collaborate with others, tackling projects big and small. There were also many moments when I was given the opportunity to run things on my own, and I cannot express the excitement that came when I got to call a finished work mine. The guidance and advice given to me, from Kevin, helped me to produce a large body of work that pushed me far beyond what I was capable of only months ago, and for that, I am truly grateful.

When I last wrote here, I said that I was open to all of the possibilities that every designer has before them. After graduation, I took this open-mindedness and jumped into the world of design, working with Kevin, a small publishing company, and on my own as a freelance designer. Now, I’m happy to say that I’m still open to endless possibilities in design, but I’m excited to focus on helping Pear Deck grow. Creating engaging design has always been a passion and challenge for me, so I look forward to working with Pear Deck’s team to create a product that helps improve students’ learning process.

As I say goodbye, I hope to express that I’m extremely proud of the work I’ve done here and it would not have been possible without Kevin’s encouragement. Thank you, Kevin, for all of your help as I’ve made my way out of graduation to working as a full-time designer!
