Bur Oak Land Trust recently went through an identity update and engaged Kevin Mellen to further enhance the overall brand, including redesigning their semi-annual magazine. I helped refine the magazine design to utilize new colors, brand assets and fonts consistently across all articles.

The goal of the magazine redesign was to create a consistent and professional layout that highlights the needs of Iowa’s natural habitat in eastern Iowa.

Kevin helped expand the color palette of the brand to be bright and engaging. The colors and consistent use of fonts are used throughout to bring emphasis to pertinent information and guide the reader through the important work of Bur Oak. The featured photography, use of negative space, and brand-specific woodcut accents further engage readers throughout the magazine.

This new structure and layout help refine the new brand to be more consistent and recognizable for future communications.
